Urban Thrones Click for Art 01

If you like it post-pop-culture and if you want it exclusive, these Click for Art limited edition ‘urban thrones’ are your go-to must-have item of this refurbishing season. Liable to make any home scream street cred, chaos and whimsy (and possibly to make your more conservative visitors cringe), they are shipped freely in the UK, but can also be delivered to any other location in the world. They’re £1.595 a pop, but that money will buy you more than just a chair with funky upholstery. “We only produce 33 of each design – Each sequentially numbered with a Certificate of Authenticity that is printed on the bottom of the chair”, says the manufacturer. Each chair is signed by the artist (Caramelaw for the Whimsical World Throne, Dan Baldwin for the Slipstream Throne and Sylvia Ji for the Maria Throne). The chairs are fully customizable, as the designs can be printed on either faux suede or genuine leather, for the decadently eco-unfriendly. The frames are hand-carved in mahogany and available in either white or black gloss finishes.

This gable-roofed home, for instance, accommodates the living requirements of an urban family of four: mother, father, plus two children. First off, it’s a duplex, where the upstairs level maintained its original height and apparent wooden girders. The master bedroom is located upstairs, while the downstairs floor was completely stripped, only to have the living room, kitchen, bathroom and children’s bedroom set up. A true loft, in both form and content, it features an open space living room, which also includes the kitchen. Read more [...]
