If you’re a die-hard biker, but not a death-wish one, you know never to hit the tarmac without a helmet on. So straddle your Harley, vintage customized chopper or Vespa in style, with Ruby’s latest, the Pavilion Collection. There’s a classic feel to them, achieved through the patterning, as well as the naming – Revolution, Odeon, Arsenal and Bakersfield are all models you can choose from. There’s also a futuristic feel to the helmets, thanks to the technology which produced them: they are carbon fiber, a material used in space flight, which guarantees maximum strength without cramping anyone’s style. Their backbone is inspired by knights’ helmets. A chrome strip borders them and they feature a fierce coat of arms. They are light as touch, padded with Nappa lambskin leather, reminiscent of the sensuality of vintage cars, and homologated for European safety standards. Jerôme Coste’s designs will make you the center of attention not just for your riding abilities, but also for your impeccable sense of style. His declared mission with these designs is to elevate the riding helmet to the status of object of desire.

The Ateliers Ruby are wholly Jerôme Coste’s project. Born as a concept in 2004, and co-authored by Jean-Etienne Prach since October 2006, the Ateliers Ruby have been active since the fateful summer of 2007. The Ruby brand cites as inspiration sources Steve McQueen, the vast expanses of science fiction and the concept of ‘belles mécaniques’, a technical counterpart for ‘les beaux arts’.
