Just when you thought you’ve seen it all in terms of contemporary house designs, in come the Swedes, with the Strawhat Factory project, built by Oscar Properties. And, of course, they’ve outdone themselves again. The Strawhat Factory, as will name will have you know, is, indeed… a former factory for making straw hats. Acquired by developer Oscar Properties, the development that includes three buildings, will soon be completed, its former glory restored, with new layers of superb contemporary house design laid on top. Initially, the complex comprised two industrial buildings and the typically turn-of-the-century factory owners’ home. Once completed, the Strawhat Factory, will comprise no less than 39 uniquely designed apartments, ranging from 1.5 to six rooms. Each home will include something truly unique, a measure of style and personality, be it a chic little English garden, a walk-in closet, an orangery or double terraces overlooking the Kungsholmen rooftops. All apartments have high ceilings, large industrial windows and window-frames, sanitary ware or lighting fixtures that will take your breath away.
When describing the Strawhat Factory, the developer paints a picture of comfort and luxury, typical of contemporary house designs. Its style can be termed ‘modern decorative’, ‘classical with a twist’ or ‘industrial elegance’. In this project, neutral whites have stepped aside, to make room for warm cozy wood tones and lush materials. With an abundance of original décor detailing, this residential ensemble is sure to be a top seller on the Stockholm market.
