Contemporary house designs place a lot of importance on the communication between indoor and outdoor spaces, and this penthouse found on Skeppsholmen confirms the principle. The home has a grand surface of 200 square meters, which skilled interior designers have peppered with just enough color and décor accents that truly stand out—the pendant lamp in the living room, the faux skein underneath it, the visible wooden girders right beneath the lofted ceiling, the black concert piano and the wet bar in the day area. The private areas of the master bedroom, children’s bedroom and master bathroom are dominated by warm, dark tones, which dominate the color of the flooring and tiling, as well as all the main pieces of furniture. Accents in these spaces make use of bronze and other noble materials. Meanwhile, the outdoor spaces of the terraces come in bright red, for a truly dynamic bout of leisurely moments, spent admiring the Stockholm skyline.

As is often the case with contemporary house designs, this one, too has at its core a superb, tall, luminous day area. The open plan living room also includes a dining area, wonderful corner sofas and a fully functional fireplace, which adds a touch of Old World charm to the design. The polished pine wood floors beautifully offset the piano, while the walls are adorned with several outstanding images. The penthouse features no less than three bedroom, amongst which the master one stands out, with its four poster bed and lofted ceiling.
