If you’re young, hip and in love, it really doesn’t matter if you’ve got a small apartment – you can still create a colorful, modern house design, as proven by this lovely apartment found on Hus & Hem. It’s located in Malmo, Sweden, and it’s all about rainbows, the joy of having a little kid, and creating a pleasant, vibrant environment for your little one to grow up in. The apartment is not much in terms of finishes or major pieces of furniture, if you think about it. The flooring is reconditioned herringbone hardwood in a warm tone, the walls are white, and most of the furniture is repurposed IKEA. But in come the décor and finishing touches. That’s where this modern house design shines and gives the onlooker the true measure of its personality.

Whether it be the tiling in the bathroom, the light fixtures or the picture frames, the Malmo apartment really shows what it means to invest energy and attention into design. The place features a handmade wire mesh lamp shade in the living room, plenty of decals, especially in the baby’s room, a colorful, tall changing and washing table in the bathroom, and upgraded ceramic tiling also in the bathroom. The floor plan is mostly open, with the bedrooms having been kept enclosed for privacy and a restful night’s sleep, while the rest of the rooms freely merge into one another, for easy circulation and for maximizing daylight. A truly modern house design, this apartment reminds us that the family that plays together stays together.

The four villas’ modest indigenousness invites the visitor inside, only to reveal spectacular interiors. They are decked out in exotic wood, diaphanous drapings on the four-poster beds and an organic sense that will make those staying here feel like they’re sleeping in the most comfortable shell at the bottom of their own private ocean.
