Ganesha-Blessed Simplicity: Dinesh Mills Bungalow, Vadadora, Gujarat

The Dinesh Mills Bungalow, designed by adnD, outside Vadodara, in the State of Gujarat, Western India, is a creature of immense simplicity. Its spine is a driveway, from which the main floor plan extends, with its simple lines, ample windows, impeccable lawn, external staircase, three verandahs and crystal clear pool, closely communicating with the great outdoors of a land rich in design history. Step inside, to see parallels and perpendiculars intersecting and running along each other, in a mixture of post-modern, simple, dynamic spaces. The decorative accents will bring you back to India, via unmistakable arabesques, gilded cows and graceful Ganeshas. This is the home of a family of three and their staff.

Atelier design n domain (adnD) designs and builds with a contemporary sensibility, perfectly in tune with topical trends, while also paying close attention to the history and particularities of the sites where they are commissioned. adnD are Shobhan Kothari and Anand Menon, main partners of a studio active since 2001, with commercial, industrial and residential projects adorning various sites across Asia.
