Most of us, especially those who are wallflowers by nature, can think of all the times we danced on our chairs at a party or in a club. Constance Guisset’s Dancing Chair is a piece designed to adorn interior house designs which helps one do just that. Actually, it is a contemporary reinterpretation of a rocking chair, with an elegant and bold design. It’s made entirely of curved strips of wood and features a conic foot rest. The shell-like upholstered seating unit provides maximum comfort, and the textured fabric cover can be removed at any time, for easy cleaning and maintenance.

The item is great for updating interior house designs with a focus on comfort. Not only this, Guisset’s project has also been receiving plenty of praise, as it was one of the thirteen ideas selected to be exhibited at the Maison Meuble exhibition, at the VIA stand. The stand, whose full title is Valorisation de l’Innovation dans l’Ameublement aims to showcase successful collaborations between the creative talent of designers and know-how of bespoke furniture makers. Under these circumstances, it is no wonder that the Dancing Chair was featured as one of the key items this year. Look how utterly comfortable it looks… All photos taken by Felipe Ribon.
