Color is Key in Stockholm, Sweden, Apartment
In order to stand out from a sea of gorgeous new home designs, this lovely apartment by Tham and Videgard Architects plays with color. Yet it does not do so in a predictable manner, by making heavy use of interesting décor items. No; instead, it plays with a lovely color scheme throughout the wood flooring, by departing from the interior use of color and pattern previously developed by Swedish artists and architects such as Carl Larsson and Josef Frank. The apartment featured here also boasts its engagement and constant communication with the outdoors, right next to Humlegarden park in Stockhom, Sweeden. Much like colors change outside throughout the year, inside, they switch gradually from winter grey and black to bright green, orange, red and yellow.
Even sparsely furnished, this jewel of new home designs, the apartment stands out for its playful grace and quirky elegance. Most of the furniture pieces featured are simple and clean in design, somewhat reminiscent of the warmth and homely comfort of the ‘60s. The entire apartment basks in the copious amounts of natural lighting coming in through the French windows.
