When it comes to architecture and contemporary design, the Modern Octopus loves lavish villas, which allow us all to dream of endless spaces and budgets to match. However, it positively adores small, clever, colorful apartments, such as this wonderful 58 square meter two-level loft in Mostoles, Madrid. It sits inside the modern MOMA building, recently completed by local developer Grupo Promart, with apartment prices starting at EUR220,000. Naturally, the first thing you notice as you embark on this inspirational virtual home tour is the awesome spiraling staircase in the den, which leads up to the more secluded, private night area. However, the color palette is not to be glossed over either, as it’s fine tuned to a tee. From kitchen counters and cabinets to the bathroom tiling, furniture included, it’s all white with mahogany elements and orange accents. The kitchen features built-in appliances in chrome, for maximal use of space, as well as a retro-chic vibe. There’s a shag rug in bright orange underneath the dining table for four, and all décor items in the day area are black, white and silver, from the drawer handles, to the many vases in the room.

Wide windows, white furniture and pristine walls help enhance the feeling of space. The bathroom space is limited to the max, with a recessed shower cabin. Furniture items are easy to move around. The lower level features a chic little terrace, ideal for morning coffee or even small house parties, for the urbanites that want to boast their newly-acquired home, in an up-and-coming part of Madrid.
